In September 2006, Denver Public Schools received a U.S. Department of Education Emergency Response and Crisis Management (ERCM) grant of nearly $500,000.  This grant allows the district to enhance and further develop its Emergency Response and Crisis Management plan.  It is the second such award the district has received and has enabled us to develop an emergency plan that has become a model for school districts across the nation.  The grant is placed under the oversight of the departments of Safety and Security, Risk Management, and Psychological Services.
