ERCM Training
UPDATE: ERCM Online Training for 2009-2010 is now available. The deadline for completing the course is Monday, November 23, 2009.
Annual ERCM Training is required for all school principals and their emergency response teams (E-Teams), including alternates, as indicated by policy KDE. Any DPS employee is welcome to take this training as long as they have a DPS login and password. Employees with charter school email addresses must contact Risk Management to be set up with login usernames. If you have problems logging on, call Risk Management at 720-424-8230 or email Debbie_Beck@dpsk12.org. For technical problems with the training, please contact the DoTS hotline at x33888. If you have training content questions, please email the ERCM Mailbox at ercm@dpsk12.org.
Please remember that each member of your school E-Team, including alternates, must take the online training and pass the certification quiz at the end of each lesson with a score of 75% or greater to satisfy the school's annual ERCM training requirement. If your team fails to complete these tasks successfully, a member of the District ERCM Team will contact your principal to set up additional training.
ERCM Online Training - Instructions
- Go to http://moodle.dpsk12.org. This takes you to the Department of Technology Services Training Site. Click on ERCM Risk Management Certification under Available Courses.
If you have a DPS user account, log on using your DPS username and password.
If you DO NOT have a DPS user account (charter school staff members), use the username and password that has been provided to your principal/director/head of school.
When logging in, you will receive a message, "You are about to enroll yourself as a member of this course. Are you sure you wish to do this?" Click on Yes. - In the ERCM Certification Course, you will find an ERCM Certification course description, a section entitled Documentation with supplemental course materials, followed by five (5) ERCM lessons, a Risk Management Survey 2009 and a Certificate. In each lesson, watch the video and then take the quiz. You will be allowed 3 attempts to take and pass each quiz. The 5 ERCM lessons and 5 quizzes (one for each lesson) and the Survey must be completed in order to request the Risk Management Certificate at the end of the course. (NOTE: There is not a video in Lesson 5. This quiz is about responding to real District incidents.)
- You must pass each of the 5 quizzes with a score of 75% or greater and complete the Survey in order to receive and print your Certificate. Once you receive your ERCM Certificate, you are certified for the 2009-2010 school year. DO NOT use browser back button when taking quiz.
- If you are unable to login to the Course, please contact Risk Management at (720) 424-8230 or email Debbie_Beck@dpsk12.org.
POP-UP BLOCKERS - If you get a Pop-up blocker message when attempting a quiz, click OK, then hold down the CTRL button while clicking on Attempt Quiz.
INTERRUPTED WHILE TAKING QUIZ - If you get interrupted while taking a quiz, click on the Save Without Submitting button to save your answers. This will NOT count as one of your quiz attempts. You will be able to return later to finish the quiz.
UNABLE TO ACCESS THE ONLINE COURSE - If you are unable to access the Moodle site (http://moodle.dpsk12.org), check to make sure your computer's internet browser is supported by DPS. Go to http://dots.dpsk12.org/standards and look for the versions of Internet Explorer and/or Firefox that are supported for PC or Mac computers. If your computer's version is NOT listed, you will need to access the ERCM online training course from another computer that uses a DPS supported internet browser.
